This episode had been long due from me. I am very sorry for this awful delay on my part. All this was due to my son’s road accident on a two-wheeler that broke his jawbones and nose. He had tough time seeing a plastic surgeon and I had to be with him all along.
My dad had a crazy temperament for a bad -assed loneliness, sorta seclusion and nutty gritty introverted living. He was reserved and did not like relations swarming about at home. He had kept more or less all his close high and rich relatives at some detachment. Though they would frequent and press my dad for any family fests, social gatherings and functions, scarcely ever did my dad involve himself in their get- togetherness. Was he anti-social? I dun no, might be.
My dad was close relative to Police officials like Honest Ali Sultan of Alangaduvu, who saw service in post independent government as deputy commissioner of police. Shabaz khan another additional S.P; and M.P Abdul Raheem the then parliament member, Dr.Quthbudeen and Dr.Rahman Khan, some landlords like Syed Qasim sahib father of S.K. Syed Abdul Jaleel, Wali Ahmed Qazi Sahib, the then District Qazi, but my dad had sadly never displayed the required relationship and acquaintance with most of them.
Likewise, my dad had distanced himself from the Retired Joint Director of Technical Education Abdul Ghaffoor, Deputy Secretary of finance government of Tamil Nadu Ali Janab K.R.Junaidy. On several subsequent occasions when I had some prospects of meeting with them or their children in their very old age, they had related to me how they would behave with due veneration in my dad’s attendance in rare fests held at our ancestral home.
This kind of god-awful comportment only speaks of sorta tough schitzy personality, but his intellectual and literary endowments with which he had been ordained speaks about him otherwise.
