31. FROM TEACHING TO STATECRAFT

These so called Muslims held  all these superstitions so blindly and  the peak ignorance was their impervious and undaunted trust that what they were doing was only what Islam had called upon them to pursue.  They threw the teachings of Islam to the wind  and had turned out to be totally ignorant infidels. May Allah exonerate them all and guide them right.
Therefore there arose a serious commitment to edify the ostensible Muslims the true code of belief of Islam and to dirt-free them of the UnIslamic innovations and rituals. My forefathers were only a few among those who came down to the South for this rationale with Allah’s blessings.
In due course some gallant and intellectual among them had  changed their line of work from teaching to administration. The Baigs were one of the martial and soldierly races with belligerent propensity according to the Royal accounts of the British War Department Sources. So most able bodied of this race were favored and inducted in the military, para military and police forces too.
Their facility was construed as dependable, valiant and meritorious. They fought the wars and served the nation heroically. Statecraft and administration were the other venues that had fascinated the intellectual and the cool among them. They were honest wherever they were posted and whatever task they were entrusted with.
Even today some of our relat
ives are to be found in the twin cities of Hyder Abad and Secundrabad, Bijapur, Mysore and some parts of Tamil Nadu. Most of the Baigs have moved about to the western countries and have made those countries their homeland. The US,The Great Britain France Germany and Pakistan are some, they had so inhabited.
In Kashmir valley Baigs are found abundantly today. It was said that my granddads were conferred with Darqast lands measuring more than seventy five acres in extant as an onetime endowment by the Administration for their service they had rendered to the State and for cause of Islam.
