My granddad Mirza
Qadir Baig had migrated from Bijapur to Coimbatore via Mysore. Baigs are
the great grand sons of the Moghals, the Moghals who had ruled over India for
about six grand centuries right from Ziauddin Mohammed Babur to the last and most infamous Shah Alam and his sons. Their
successive rule had contributed to the unity of the broken and ethnically
disunited fragmentary parts of our country.
Splendid monuments of grandeur, world famous and
unique art and architecture, music and literature; and the best administration
of our country were a very few of the contributions our great ancestors the Moghals
had left for us as the richest heritage.
Our house in Nawab Hakeem Road had some of the antiquated timeworn remnants
and vestiges of the great historic Moghal rule, lends credentials to a rock-solid proof that we were of Moghal Royal legacy.
The old Royal shield with golden insignia, heavily engraved sword and sabers were exquisite and held in hiding in a
huge wooden box from the time my great
grand dads as the royal heritage, undisclosed.
Besides,My dad had some torn,
outmoded, antique and royal uniforms of Moghal Cavalry officers, which he used
to boast his dad’s grandfathers had used in the durbar. We had some old utensils
too engraved in silver and gold plated. There was a Qalamdan in the Deevan Qana.
The purity, the accents and idiom of the language our dad’s family used, its
style, diction and vocabulary whether Urdu Persian and Arabic stood a solid confirmation to this claim too.
abba truly speaking even me never remembered allthese stories heard fromyou earlier.that's where the inner pride comes for baigs?
